Politics is NOT a spectator sport!

Oregon Gun Owners is committed to providing you with the most up to date information available regarding your firearms rights and the political process. Our Legislative Action Center allows you to 1) find out who represents you, 2) find out our most important issues we're tracking, and 3) contact your State and Federal elected officials.  Give it a try!

This section of the OGO website offers you the most comprehensive and up to date information regarding elections and political activity

One of the most important bills to pass the 1999 legislature was SB 369.  This bill allowed the Oregon Gun Owners Political Victory Fund to offer Oregonians a tax credit for contributions up to $50 for a single person and $100 for a couple. You can read the text of SB 369 for reference. If you click on the link, the language for the credit is found in Section 27 of the bill.  See below for more information on the tax credit.

ELECTION PROCESS INFORMATION
For general information on the Elections process and for previous voter participation, registration history, and results, go to the Oregon Secretary of State's Elections Division homepage.

Do you need to register to vote?  Get a registration card here.

Don't know who represents you?  If you don't know which district you live in, visit our Legislative Action Center and type in your zip code.  You will need your zip+4, but if you don't know that, we can tell you!

OGO POLITICAL VICTORY FUND (PVF)

The OGO PVF is a PAC (political action committee) which raises money to support pro-rights and pro-hunting candidates in Oregon, as well as weighing in on ballot measures.  The PVF is dedicated to working to stop restrictive ballot measures that appear on Oregon's ballot. Often the anti-gunners attempt to use the ballot measure process to pass their restrictive ideas (such as 2000's Measure 5).

The OGO PVF is a qualified Political Action Committee under Oregon Statute which qualifies for the Oregon Political Tax Credit. An individual can donate up to $50 or a couple can donate up to $100 and have it count as a credit on their Oregon Income Taxes. (click here for Dept. of Revenue legal language on the tax credit)

THAT'S RIGHT! Rather than giving the State of Oregon that money, you can donate to the OGO PVF and deduct that amount directly off of your Oregon State Income Taxes. So, it's either give it to the state or give it to OGO!

The OGO PVF has successfully worked to elect pro-gun candidates to the Oregon House and Senate. By working with the candidates through donating money or rallying grassroots support, the OGO PVF ensures that we'll continue to outnumber the anti-gunners in the Oregon Legislature.  To donate to the OGO Political Victory Fund, click here.
